Building Rural Smart Logistics: Bridging the Last Mile

February 2023-June 2025

The “first mile” for agricultural products and the “last mile” for industrial goods are major challenges in rural logistics. I joined a project to build a three-tier smart distribution network connecting towns, villages, and households.

  • Optimizing physical networks: I contributed to station layout discussions, analyzing order density and geographic patterns to maximize route efficiency.

  • Building digital platforms: I assisted in developing a unified e-commerce and logistics platform, where villagers could pick up parcels and order local goods at the same time.

  • Data for efficiency: By collecting and analyzing shipping data, I supported route planning and peak-time resource allocation to boost distribution efficiency.

Watching packages flow seamlessly to households and local products reach nationwide markets gave me a real sense of building digital bridges.
